Freeze-thaw cycles, shifting soils and natural settling can further contribute to cracks and moisture intrusion.

How Genyk F46 Protects Foundation Walls 

Genyk F46 is a liquid-applied elastomeric membrane that cures into a seamless waterproof barrier. Unlike sheet membranes, which rely on seams and overlaps, the coating conforms directly to the surface of the foundation. 

When applied correctly, the material creates a continuous protective layer across the entire wall. This seamless coverage helps eliminate common weak points where water can penetrate. Because the cured membrane remains flexible, it can also accommodate minor movement and settling without cracking.

Waterproofing ICF Foundations 

Insulated Concrete Forms have become increasingly popular because they combine structural concrete with integrated insulation. However, the concrete core within an ICF wall still requires protection below grade. 

Genyk F46 can be applied directly to the exterior surface of ICF foundation walls to create a waterproof envelope before backfilling. The coating adheres well to the substrate and provides continuous protection against groundwater intrusion. 

Because ICF construction is often selected for energy efficiency and durability, a high-performance waterproofing system helps ensure the foundation performs as intended throughout the life of the building. 

Protecting Concrete Block Foundations 

Concrete block foundations present unique waterproofing challenges. Unlike poured concrete walls, block foundations contain numerous mortar joints and hollow cores that can create pathways for water migration. 

Water entering through one area of a block wall can travel internally and emerge elsewhere, making leaks difficult to identify and repair from the interior. 

Applying Genyk F46 to the exterior surface helps address this issue by creating a monolithic barrier across the entire foundation. The coating bridges joints and irregularities while sealing the outer face of the wall against moisture intrusion. 

For older homes with existing block foundations, exterior waterproofing can be one of the most effective long-term solutions for chronic basement moisture problems.
